For over 35 years, Canada and the United States have shared in the environmental and reliability benefits of competitively priced Manitoba hydropower through electricity trading relationships.

Today, electricity trade is also providing an important economic opportunity for Aboriginal people in northern Manitoba. Five First Nations are actively pursuing new hydroelectric projects in partnership with Manitoba Hydro.
